"The Study"

Where do you think we'll be when they come for us?
No.
Not those clowns.
Or the feds.
We're too hot and funny for that.
Besides, they have charismatic cult leaders to catch.
So you think that we'll rule the world?
Or will we give up on it?
Phone our people.
Take us home.
Home that lies between the constellations...
The big burning balls of fire in the sky...
Think that we'll remember their language when they arrive?
Or will we shut our mouths and dance...?
Like good dancers do.
Will we see The Great Pyramids from space?
Will they show us Aurora Borealis on our way out?
Do you think we'll be fine without oxygen after screaming our lungs out?
Surely, we have grown gills by now...
Or better...
Cloacas. 🦖
When we leave this place, will we leave this timeline?
Inhale.
Exhale.
I guess we'll find out.
Could be tomorrow.
But probably not.
After all... I promised to live a long life...
Because that's what I want.
Sometimes... old wounds still ache.
That's all.
In time, the inflammation will die down...
And it will just be... easy.
Almost... as if it never happened.
